From a Therapist's Kitchen to Your Dog's Bowl
As a canine hydrotherapist, Pat's world revolves around helping dogs move with comfort and joy. She has spent years working hands-on with every kind of pup, from seniors with stiff, arthritic joints to young dogs recovering from surgery. Her passion is helping them regain their spark.
In the therapy pool, she saw the incredible difference targeted exercise could make. But she also saw the limitations. So many dogs were still held back by the underlying issue: the progressive breakdown of the very cartilage that cushions their joints.
The Search That Started it All
As an expert in her field, Pat knew that supplementing with collagen could make a real difference. Her first instinct was to go straight to the source. She began buying bone off-cuts from the local butchers, simmering them for hours in her own kitchen to create a rich, homemade bone broth.
Her own fussy dog, Monty, thrived on the recipe, but the process was long and tedious. She tried various tablet-based supplements on the market, but Monty would expertly reject them, no matter how cleverly they were hidden.
This created a clear mission: to develop a supplement with the potency of her homemade broth, but in a form that even the fussiest dog would accept.
Her research led her to pure, hydrolysed collagen peptides, a tasteless, odourless powder that dissolves invisibly into any food. It was the perfect, science-backed solution.
It was from these kitchen experiments, driven by professional expertise and a fussy dog's refusal, that Pat's Pet Kitchen was truly born.
